Arjun in fight mode at RFC

It is always a big challenge to the directors and producers to finalize a heroine for Mahesh Babu. Given his height and charming looks, someone very beautiful, tall and sexy is compulsory.
Maybe this is the reason why director Sreenu Vaitla seems to have gone in for a change regarding the heroine for his new film ‘Aagadu’.
It is heard that the film’s shooting will commence from November onwards.
Till recently, it was believed that Tamannah was the leading lady for Mahesh. But Vaitla is reportedly thinking that given Mahesh’s height she would look too short so instead of her, he has gone in for Shruti Haasan.
‘Aagadu’ is the second film with Mahesh-Vaitla combination after their blockbuster hit ‘Dookudu’. So, the expectations are high on this project.
As of now, the filmnagar folks say Tammu seems to have lost out to Shruti but let us wait for an official announcement on this.

Hadal:

Jr NTR who is getting ready with Ramayya Vastavayya under Harish Shanker's direction has recently signed a new film with writer-turned-director Koratala Siva.

The movie is titled as Hadal. Director Siva gave a blockbuster with his debut film Mirchi. They plan to come up with yet another super hit and it is said that Jr NTR liked Siva's script and he is confident that the film will be a big success. The film will go on the sets very soon.

Presently the hero is busy shooting a film with Santosh Srinivas which is being produced by Bellam Konda Suresh. This film is tentatively titled as Rabasa. Once the hero completes the shoot of Rabasa he will join the Hadal team.

The political unrest in Andhra Pradesh seems to have struck a huge blow on Tollywood, more so to Chiranjeevi's family. The United State movement agitators have threatened to stall the releases of films from Chiranjeevi's family thus forcing the postponement of two big budget flicks - Yevadu with Ram Charan Teja and Attarintiki Dharedi with Pawan Kalyan. Finally there seems to be some respite and Pawan's film is being planned for August 23 release all over the state.

Even though Directors like Ram Gopal Varma can create sensations and leverage detractors to create hype for the movie. Most of the low budget film producers depend on mouth talk for publicity. Following the trend, our film makers are offering cash prizes and gifts openly. Now, Pusthakamlo Konni Pageelu Missing (PKPM) is one such movie. The makers of the film have announced a reward of 1 Lakh rupees to the person who leaves the theater without laughing at PKPM movie.

PKPM stars Sri (Ee Rojullo fame) and Saajidh Kureshi have directed this flick. The reward announced by the movie team is confined to lady audience.

King enters Manam Sets

A day after Akkineni Nageshwara Rao entered Manam sets, now King Nagarjuna joins the team. This Akkineni Multistarrer is being directed by Vikram Kumar (Ishq fame). After speedily wrapping up the shooting part of Bhai, Yuva Samrat has entered this Multistarrer, which is currently undergoing shooting at Annapurna Studios. So far, Manam team has shot some scenes on Naga Chaitanya and Samantha.

Issaq movie review

Give this one a miss – Issaq, directed by Manish Tiwari, is not worth your precious time or money

Director Manish Tiwary’s Issaq is a rustic take on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. Prateik and Amyra Dastur play two small town sweethearts from Varanasi. From canoodling on rickety boats perched on the beautiful banks of the city of Benares to making lethal love promises, the two do it all.
This one is a story about a feud between two families – the Kashyaps and the Mishras. And we all know about the deadly games destiny plays. Prateik (Rahul Mishra) and Amyra (Bachhi Kashyap) end up falling into the inescapable web of each other’s love. Amy’s daddy Ravi Kishen is super impressive as Teetas; he has a formidable personality in the film, bolstered by the handlebar moustache, the kohl-rimmed eyes and the desi twang – the Bhojpuri actor scares and scowls like a veritable villain. While Prateik is the gun wielding thug, Amyra goes to college – that’s different, since her focus tends to be on listening to Prateik’s love talk rather than to the professor’s pearls of wisdom. And just for the record, she does that on her mobile phone via a hands-free kit while the lectures are in progress.
While these romantic birds are basking in the rains of romance, supporting characters catch our attention. And readers, they are much better than the protagonists, believe you us! Neena Gupta, who’s a teeny-tiny part of Amy’s family and is always supporting the babe to take love risks, does a commendable job of playing the helpless old lady. Vineet Kumar Singh from Gangs of Wasseypur impresses as Prateik’s ‘not-so-brave’ gang member. He looks real ‘coz he acts real. And Makrand Deshpande just gives you the giggles with his dopey sadhu avatar. He levitates up in the air, smokes a chillum and in his free time, doles out religious gyaan to his firang followers.
The film is inconsistent. It failed to keep us hooked, and Prateik and Amyra simply cannot manage to step into the shoes of small town sweethearts. Their urban accents, the way they dress and how they carry themselves – nothing complements the rural and charming appeal of Benares. The quarrels look pointless and romance is flat and dispassionate. And amidst the redundant scenes there are two more people who take the cake – Rajeshwari Sachdev and Prashant Narayan, the first as Ravi Kishen’s wife and the latter as a shrewd Naxalite…

B.A. Pass movie review

Film: B.A. Pass; Cast: Shilpa Shukla, Shadab Kamal, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Deepti Naval; Directed by Ajay Bahl

It is an unusual work of cinema, which explores the darkest depths of the human consciousness

Somewhere towards the end of the protagonist Mukesh’s (Shadab Kamal) descent into a self-created hell, we see him standing shamelessly at the roadside soliciting sex, being picked up by three drunken burly men. A little later, Mukesh sobs in the bathroom, blood dripping to his feet in a trail of tell-tale brutality. The intense implicit violence that underlines this sequence reminded me of a similar process of sexual debasement undertaken by Mark Wahlberg in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Boogie Nights. That was a film about the porn industry in the 1970s.
B.A. Pass is set in present day Delhi – Paharganj, to be more precise. Bustling with sights, sounds and smells of doom and despair, it is a gripping story of a young financially challenged man’s journey into a world of prostitution. We could say, we have never seen this before. And we would be as close to the truth as this film tries to get.

Fate deals a bad hand to Param Gulati and forces him to play a married woman – and he does it with utmost flair

Gaurav Gera can give any leading lady from tellyland a run for her money as Mrs Pammi Pyarelal. She’s funny, gentle, stylish and – we can’t believe we’re saying this – hot!
Colors’ has launched a new show called Mrs Pammi Pyarelal which tells the story of a struggling actor who comes to Mumbai in the quest to become a star. The scene opens with Param Gulati, the hero – or should it be heroine? – at a temple, ringing the bells and asking God to listen to him. Finally, the tech savvy deity decides to grant his wishes and give him a break (the filmi kind), but with conditions attached. Param’s mother, who tailors clothes for a living, and his handicapped sister bid him farewell in true Bollywood ishtyle and pray that all his dreams come true.
In Mumbai Param learns that the film meant for him has been cancelled and his friend Rahul Pyarelal (Karan Goddwani), who was going to share his apartment with him, has been thrown out by his landlord. With nowhere to go, Param and Rahul search for a home. They come across a bungalow with space to rent – how ambitious!

The Deepak Dobriyal starrer sparkles with wit directed at lives that would have been truly sad if they weren’t so funny

There is a very good reason why this interesting satire on petty crime and plummeting morals in Delhi is captioned Season One. Reality shows and their absolutely disregard for basic decency and human sensitivities play a major part in Chor Chor Super Chor. The script by director K Rajesh, Anil Thomas and V Radhakrishnan creates a world of petty crime in the metropolis with a generous dosage of warm humour and a comic candour directed at the middle-class and its craving for a good life.

Sensational director Ram Gopal Varma’s daughter Revathi varma is getting married to Pranav, a doctor on 15^th August. Both the families have decided to invite close family members and friends from both the sides for this wedding bash. While no star celebrities are invited for the occasion, media might also have no invitation.

Revathi, a medical student, got betrothed to her co-medico Pranav earlier this year in January. Groom's parents are also Dubai based doctors. It is a love marriage. The couple will host a pre-wedding bash for their friends but it will only be attended by close friends of the couple, but not anybody from the industry.

'Adda' Movie Release on August 15th.

The postponement of Yevadu and Attarintiki Daredi has come as a boon for Small cinemas. Theatres are available and there is no competition at the box-office. Glancing this opportunity some films are getting ready for release. Adda is one such movie featuring Sushanth and Shanvi in the main lead and directed by Karthik reddy. Even though the movie was completed, the makers were unable to determine the release date due to theatre unavailability and the impact of big star movies.

'1000 Abaddalu' to Release on August 9th!

Teja is one director who has changed the image and style of small cinema. He set a bench mark for small cinema with the success of ‘Nuvvu Nennu’ and ‘Jayam’. But since then he did not score any victories. ‘Keka’ and ‘Neeku Naaku Dash Dash’ were big disappointments at the box-office. Now he is trying to regain the lost form with a new flick ‘1000 Abaddalu’ featuring Sairam Shankar and Ester in the lead roles.

This film is about to release on August 9^th, which was initially slated for August 15^th. All the big movies got postponed because of T-effect, paving way for release one week ahead of the date planned. This is an entertaining movie with the story revolving around the character Satya. But the real suspense lies in finding out - who Satya is? Naga Babu will be providing laughter as a tower star in this movie. Music in this film is composed by Ramana Gogula.

Sai Dharam Tej's Rey Release date Confirmed

Director-Producer YVS Chowdary, who worked for two years to bring out ‘Rey’ film with high standards, is now getting ready to release it on 11^th September on the eve of Dussehra. Rey is been under shooting from past two years in America and West Indies. Sai Dharam Teja, Chiranjeevi’s nephew will be seen as a dancer and actress Shraddha Das is playing a negative role. The team has already completed the shooting part and post production work.

Chakri is composing music for this film and working with YVS chowdary after Devdas. Saiyami kher is the female lead and the film is produced by YVS himself under Bommarillu banner.

Please fix the title

The film industry has been deprived of many things off late. There was a scarcity of stories, then heroines. Now the scarcity has occurred even for the film titles! This is a really a peculiar situation for film industry which usually is well equipped with catchy titles and fun filled songs. While there is no issue for small budget films, it is the big budget films which are having trouble to fix a title! The films which have big heroes such as Balakrishna, Pawan Kalyan, Jr.NTR, Venkatesh and so on are in search for an ideal title. When will the titles get fixed? Is a million dollar question now.

A film is being made in the combination of Balakrishna and Boyapati Sreenu. There has been promotion that the film’s title is Ruler. But the producers are scared to finalize the title and promote the same on big scale- the reason is because the title is not yet registered by them. The title is owned by ace producer K.S.Ramarao and he is refusing to give it to the producers. That is why as a backup Boyapati Sreenu registered the title Jayasimha for the film- eventually leading to more confusion!

Cinema has Second innings just like in Cricket. If everything goes well, even third or fourth innings is possible- provided there is energy left! Usually heroines get these chances. After coming to limelight as a heroine, glamour fades away as they age and opportunities narrow down. Then take a break and re-appear on screen as Item girls! When even that gets paled down, they start their third innings by acting as an elder sister or a sister-in-law to the lead role. If they still have energy, they can act as a grandmother as well, thereby paving way for a fourth innings! But when it comes to Heroes, this in not the case. After gracing the screen with their heroism, they cannot venture out to act as an uncle or a side actor. Though reaching 50, Men can still continue as heroes! Hence, there is no chance for second or third innings for them. But for the heroines, it is not so. Once the glamour and the glitz reduce, they have to begin their second innings. The people, who ruled the industry as top heroines once, are settling down to character roles and continuing their acting career in third and fourth innings!

Chakri, who was a popular musician in Tollywood, has got a huge gap in the recent times. He was one among the great music directors in Tollywood few years ago. He composed many fantastic albums and beautiful songs but now he lagged behind in Tollywood.

Now in the news that Composer Chakri and producer Paruchuri Prasad (Simha fame) misbehaved with a girl named Madhavi. She has launched a complaint against them today in Banjara hills police station. Investigation is going on and Nirbhaya case has been filed on Chakri and Paruchuri. The complete details are yet to be known.

Allu Arjun with Balupu director

Stylish Star Allu Arjun is teaming up with ‘Balupu’ director Gopichand Malineni for a new film. This venture will be produced by star producer Dil Raju under under Sri Venkateswara Creations. The successful director has narrated a storyline to the actor. Impressed Bunny, immediately gave a nod to the director and it might hit the floors soon. Bunny will meanwhile wrap up Race Gurram film in Surendar Reddy direction.

This movie will be a commercial entertainer. "Dil Raju offered to make me a director while I was working as an Assistant Director for ‘Kantri’. But it did not happen. After all these years, I am happy to be associated with his banner”, said Gopichand. More details about this movie are yet to be declared officially.

'Bhai' First Look on the way..

King Nagarjuna's ‘Bhai’ movie has completed entire shooting part and the team is gearing up to launch the First look on 7^th August. Currently the post production and dubbing works are on roll. This film is glamoured with four heroines including Richa Gangopadhyay in the main lead, Kamna Jetmalani for a special role, Nathalia Kaur will sizzle in an item song and Zara shah (Life is beautiful fame) will be seen as Nag’s sister. Actor Adithya Menon (Simha fame) will be seen as Nagarjuna’s friend in this movie.

The audio of this commercial entertainer is expected to be out by the end of this month and the film might hit screens in third week of September. Akkineni Nagarjuna is producing it on Annapurna Studios banner with Devi Sri Prasad as Music Composer. This is third film for director Veerabhadram, who is on high with two successful comedy entertainers.

Attarintiki Daredi Postponed again

Attarintiki Daredi is facing release problems and now this flick is not coming on August 9th. The makers are not commiting to any date in view of ongoing agitations in Seemandhra region. In addition to that, SRK's Chennai Express and Vijay's Thalaivaa are hitting screens on August 9th, which might effect overseas business. These are the reasons making AD team to take back seat in fixing a release date. If the ongoing agitations calm down the movie is expected on August 14th.
Attarinitki Daredi featuring Pawan Kalyan and Samantha was directed by Trivikram. It has completed its censor formalities a short while ago and the board members have given the movie a clean ‘U’ certificate without any cuts, justifying the earlier rumors of it being a clean family entertainer.

Manchu family making hulchul in Hyderabad!

Telugu film industry has started a new tradition. All the actors from a single family will be making hungama on screen at the same time. Akkineni family came together for the movie Manam. Now the entire Manchu family will also be making noise in a film. Mohan Babu, Vishnu and Manoj from Manchu family will be featuring in this family multi-starrer along with Hansika and Praneetha as the female leads. As of now the title ‘Galata’ is in discussions for this movie.

24frames factory is producing this movie under the direction of Lakshyam Srinivas. Presently the shooting of this film is happening in a house in Hyderabad. The entire main cast of the movie is participating in this shooting. Bollywood heroine Raveena Tandon is playing the lead opposite Mohan Babu. Along with Mohan Babu, Vishnu and Manoj, some of the key scenes featuring Varun Sandesh and Tanish are being picturized since four days.
