Lingaa's Impressive Collections In Overseas

Superstar Rajinikanth has once again proved his stamina at the overseas box-office. His ‘Lingaa’ film has collected close to 14 crores in its opening weekend.
As per our trade reports, ‘Lingaa’ collected 2.26 crores in Malaysia, 1.68 crores in United Kingdom, 4.24 lakhs in Canada and 8.41 crores in USA.
These collections include both Tamil and Telugu versions.

Shankar’s most anticipated movie of this decade ‘I’ is all set for a grand release for this Sankranti. Cinematographer PC Sreeram has confirmed the news and said "9th January 2015 we will all be blessed with "I".
A red letter day for Indian cinema”. Telugu version audio is yet to be released and the theatrical rights of 'I' for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana were acquired for close to 40 crores.
'I' teaser has recently reached 9 million mark and the theatrical trailer will be out in this week.
Producer Aascar Ravichandran is determined to release the film for Pongal and he is confident enough that the film will become a landmark movie in the history of Indian cinema.
Vikram and Amy Jackson are the lead pair and AR Rahman's music has already become a huge hit.

This Week's Trade Talk: Wobbly Releases

This week saw the release of three small films – one is SV Krishna Reddy’s Yamaleela 2 which released amidst very high expectations.
Since Yamaleela was a huge hit and since a lot of money was spent on the film along with the presence of Mohan Babu and Brahmanandam, the film had to meet high expectations.
But it has to be said that it failed to meet the expectations and the openings were very weak.
In fact, the film’s producers released the film in Andhra and Telangana through various distribution networks. So, the film did not have theatre problems. But a new hero and SV Krishna Reddy being reckoned as a family director did not help to bring audiences to the theatres.
